Hello KSS Families,
First semester has come to a close and Monday marks the beginning of semester two. The halfway point in the year in the semester system is a great time for a new beginning!
The first week of semester two will be similar to our start up at the beginning of the year and the daily schedule will be the same as first semester.
**Please note that our Grade 9 students will report to the main gym on Monday morning for a brief assembly that will help to set a positive and supportive tone for Semester Two.
Semester 2 Schedules
As semester 2 approaches, there are always a few room and staffing updates that can alter student schedules. Student should check their most updated schedule via the Aspen Student Portal to verify room location and courses. Please access the Aspen Student Portal Instructions if you are unsure how to access your schedule. Students who would like a hard copy of their schedule can ask for a printed copy in the KSS main office, library or student services office.
Schedule Changes
The Student Services team has been working hard to update schedules and balance classes for the upcoming semester. The student services office will be open all week next week for drop-in schedule assistance (e.g. those who need to change a course, or have a gap in their schedule). No appointment is necessary; just come to the student services office to sign up on the clipboard at the front desk. Changes that alter pathways or post-secondary plans will always be verified with a parent/guardian.
Upcoming Events:
On Wednesday and Thursday, students will be called to the atrium for grade forums
On Friday February 9th, we will facilitate our exam return day for students, with report cards going home on February 16th.
As a 'save the date' we would also like to let you know that we will be hosting a Grade 9 - 11 Parent/Student Night on February 29th. Further communication will follow, but this evening will be devoted to exploring career pathways and course selection using the My Blueprint platform.
