Traffic Safety for Pick Up and Drop Off
We continue to have traffic congestion on Elliot Avenue causing safety concerns. A sub-committee created from the K.S.S. Parent Council met on September 25 and we highlighted numerous suggestions to the Limestone Board, who sent this information to the City of Kingston. The City of Kingston has responded with a 'Pick up and Drop Off Map". Please review the map below and follow the 'No Stopping' and 'No Parking' areas as suggested to make the area safer for all students and families.
There are things you can do to support safety:
- Give yourself an extra 10 minutes in the morning and drop off students a block away to give time for students to walk. School begins at 8:20 a.m.
- Please be respectful of speed limits in the neighborhood for all students' safety.
- If students are within walking distance, please walk.
- Take public transit. All students have a free transit pass.
- If you must drive students, please do not enter the school’s driveway between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. or between 2:30 and 3:00 p.m.
- If you must use Elliott Avenue, please understand this is a 'No Stopping' area, and respect speed limits for the safety of all students.
