Principal’s Message

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!  We would like to warmly welcome all our returning and incoming students and families of Kingston Secondary School and Module Vanier. Before the school year has begun, we are already a hub of activity, with educators, office staff, and custodians getting the school and learning environment ready for students. We are so excited for the first day of school!

As a Grade 7 – 12 school with multiple learning pathways, it is our hope that each student will be engaged academically at KSS/Vanier. It is also our goal to present opportunities which challenge and broaden our students, whether that be through the fostering of a growing world view, access to the plethora of clubs and activities available to students at different times of the year, or through engagement in our many athletic offerings. We ask our students to take risks in their learning and to fully engage in the life of our vibrant school community.

It is our belief that for students to be ready for and engaged in their learning, they need to feel that they are entering into a safe and inclusive environment. Providing such a space is paramount in the work that we do at KSS/Vanier and we continue to strive to ensure that equity, diversity, and inclusion are a part of our daily ongoing work.

We are so looking forward to the year ahead! Please know that we value student voice and leadership and that we view the partnership with families and our school community as vital to the ongoing success and growth of our learning environment.

At KSS and Vanier, our Vice-Principals support student learning broadly, but also have some specific assignments:

Ms. Sousa: Module Vanier and KSS School to Community Program (613-544-4811 Extension 11105)

Ms. Evans: Grade 10 and 12 (613-544-4811 Extension 11102)

Mr. Morrow: Grade 9 and 11 (613-544-4811 Extension 11103)

Recognizing you as a partner in the education of your child, we feel it’s important for you to have access to the documents below to review with your child and which guide us in our work.

At KSS/Vanier, the start and end times of the day are particularly busy with staff arriving and school buses entering and exiting.  At these times, we would ask that all drop offs of students take place at the side entrance on Kirkpatrick St.  For families needing to come into the school, we would ask that you use the visitor parking.  The accessible parking spaces are not for drop offs or for short stays, they must remain open for those with identifiable permits. Thanks so much for your support!

We are looking forward to another great year!
