Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year!

We are excited to welcome students to K.S.S. on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. The purpose of this message is to remind families and students of some covid safety protocols, drop off and pick up expectations, threat/risk assessment notification process and to give you an update on timetables.

COVID Protocols and Pre-Screening

As per last year, all LDSB students and staff must complete the Covid screener before reporting to work. Masking, regular screening, cohorting, social distancing, frequent hand washing and increased cleaning protocols will all remain in effect.

Please make sure students have completed the COVID pre-screener prior to arriving to school each day. We will reinforce always wearing masks inside the school. The pre-screening can be found here:

We understand that you may have some questions about what the return to school will look like. Limestone District School Board Director of Education Krishna Burra recently provided an update to families on our back-to-school guide, which you can read here. For additional information, please see theLDSB website FAQs. We continue to work closely with KFL&A Public Health to plan for a safe return to school and will continue to do so over the course of this academic year.

Pick Up and Drop Off of Students

Please drop students off on Kirkpatrick Street or decide on a location where you will drop off and pick up students close to the school. Our school has a no entry to outside vehicles between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 and 3:00 p.m. to allow safe arrival and departure of bus transportation and students walking and cycling.

Threat/Risk Assessment Notification and Process

The Limestone District School Board and community partners are committed to making our schools safe for students and staff. As a result, schools will respond to all student behaviours that pose a potential risk to other students, staff, and members of the community. The Community Violence Threat Risk Assessment Process is designed to be proactive in developing intervention plans that address the emotional and physical safety of those involved. A Threat/Risk Assessment is initiated by the school administration or community partners when behaviours have been identified by staff or students that pose a potential risk to self and/or others. Please note: it is important for all parties to support the Violence Threat Risk Assessment Process. However, if for some reason there is a reluctance to participate in the process, by the student of concern or parent/guardian, the threat assessment process will continue in order to ensure a safe and caring environment for all. Families are asked to review the steps of a Threat/Risk Assessment online at .

Student Services is continuing to fix some timetable issues and they will continue supporting students with changes throughout next week until all schedules are settled.
