It is our pleasure to let you know that Relay for Life 2022 is in the works and we are hoping for a great event this year! For those of you who are not aware of this school event, Relay for Life is a fund-raising campaign for the Canadian Cancer Society that gives students an opportunity to Make a Difference for those who have been touched by the tragedy of cancer. The event was brought to our school by former teacher Sandy Prentice who was taken from us by cancer in 2011. This will be our 15th Relay at KCVI/KSS and this year we are looking to cross the $300,000 mark in total funds raised. Amazing!
The Relay for Life Committee 2022, led by Ella Coulter, Zoha Virk and Claire Brackenbury, has been working hard to plan for a series of Relay for Life fundraising events in April and May. For example, there will be a Two Truths/One Lie – Teacher Edition running this week. These events will lead up to the main event on May 27th from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. outside on our wonderful new field and track and inside our student atrium.
Letter to Parents - Relay 2022
Participation will be capped for this event so we can manage numbers and run the event safely. Please be sure to enjoy such events ranging from opening and closing ceremonies, themed track laps, social distanced Zumba, obstacle races, water pong tournament, a coffee house, and much, much more! Stay tuned for more details. The good news is there is no overnight supervision😊 – but we will be looking for volunteers to help supervise the Friday event. And….. maybe we can get a staff Relay team (or a few of them) together😎 – participation was awesome last year!
