two positive cases of COVID-19 in two students at Kingston Secondary School Dec. 20. These cases were already self-isolating, no further impact to school community. 

Three positive cases in two students and one staff member on Dec. 11 and 12, 2021. Students and staff in affected cohorts are now self-isolating as directed by KFL&A Public Health. Outbreak declared Dec. 12.

Following the identification of these additional positive cases at KSS, KFL&A Public Health has now declared an outbreak at Kingston Secondary School.  This outbreak status will not affect in-person learning. The school remains open, however, visitors are restricted at this time.
One student on Dec. 10, 2021: This resulted in the dismissal of two class cohorts. 

One student tested positive on Dec. 3.This resulted in the dismissal of four class cohorts.

This brings the total number of cases at the school to five at KSS.

KFL&A Public Health works closely with schools to ensure that necessary steps are taken to prevent further spread of the virus both in the school and the community.


Families are encouraged to continue to monitor and screen students daily for symptoms of COVID-19 as most cases of COVID-19 are acquired in the home setting. Please continue to follow all public health guidelines which include maintaining physical distance, wearing face coverings, and cleaning your hands frequently.

Cases in schools must be reported locally and provincially. We are sharing this information with you to ensure you have accurate information. No further information will be released to maintain privacy.
