This National Day of Observance was created in response to Truth and Reconciliation Call to Action 80, to establish a statutory day to honour Survivors, their families, and communities, and to take time to learn about Indigenous experiences and brilliance. We encourage everyone to do one thing today that deepens your understanding of Indigenous peoples and Indigenous ways of Knowing, Being, and Doing.
Flags at LDSB schools and the board office will be lowered to half-mast on Friday morning remain lowered until Monday morning.
